I used to love Google desktop, the mail search feature it provides is way faster than Outlook's search function, it also helps me quickly have applications located and launched, it helps to find some files on my disk in a few occasions. I don't use the bundled sidebar of it.

However Google desktop search doesn't do it's major job "search" as well as its web search. The results it presents are not good enough, and for some keywords, it's just not relevant at all. It can't correctly locate some application as well.

When I found Xobni and Launchy. I decided to unstall Google Desktop. Xobni do the same quick mail search and it does a lot more by listing interaction data and attachments. Launchy can locate applications much accurately and get me out of the headache of finding the applications when Google desktop failed me.

I still do not find a replacement for disk files search, but I still don't want to keep Google desktop, it doesn't find me the right file most of time anyway.

Do you find your Firefox 3 crashes all the time? ...me did too... and removing all the add-ons doesn't work at all...

Try this, uninstall all the previous versions (FF2 and FF3 beta, back up your bookmarks, delete all the Firefox directories, and best of all, all register entries as well using a register cleaner like "ccleaner"), then install a fresh new FF3. According to my test... FF3 stops crashing and works stably so far... so the crashing problem should be due to mixed installation with previous versions...

The list above reveals a seemingly true fact that how easily a first mover could die and be replaced by a fast follower. However the other instances like Cisco and Microsoft overthrow the "truth". First or Last probably is not the decisive fact of success. As brought up by Don Dodge, an entrepreneur should learn the following:

• Never stop innovating
• Build a well rounded management team early
• Value sales and marketing talent as much as technical talent
• React quickly to disruptive technologies or business models
• Don't be too proud to imitate when it makes sense

帽子，（眼镜），挂饰，手饰，皮靴，衬衫套短T，马甲，这些流行元素很多都是很老套的，不过随意选上4-5件搭配之后，街头一眼望去仍会感觉一点时尚的气息。

不过一般来说简约为主和突出某“一个”亮点或细节的穿着风格仍是上选。元素多样也可谓一种风格，风格不来可以有多种。

1. 关闭设备。在不使用办公室和实验室中的设备时将其关闭；设置电脑的备份时间，使其只在白天运行，避免电脑在晚上处于运行状态。只执行上述措施，每年便能将二氧化碳的排放量降低640磅，也就能每年为惠普节省700,000美元的资金。如果不使用电灯、电视、立体声系统、电脑和其他家用电器，就将其关闭，这样每年可将二氧化碳的排放量平均减少1,000磅（约合450千克）。
2. 节约能耗。从http://getit.hp.com/getsmart/energy.htm网站上为您的电脑下载节能设置，便可帮助惠普平均每年将二氧化碳的排放量降低857磅。
3. 不使用屏保程序。屏保程序非但不能节能，反而会增加28％左右的能耗。您可以在不使用电脑时，将其设置为睡眠模式。
4. 共享设备可有效实现节能。停止在办公室使用个人桌面打印机，建议采用最近的网络共享打印机。您可以把取打印文件的时间视为一个暂时离开办公桌、探访同事的好时机。
5. 切断电源。将家中的电子设备连接到节省空间的电源板上。许多设备即使在关闭的状态下也会消耗大量的电能。但是如果将其连接到已关闭的电源板中，则不会消耗电能。
6. 节能替换。至少将四盏家用灯泡替换为节能灯（CFL）或发光二极管（LED）灯泡。节能灯的能耗是白炽灯的25％，并且其使用寿命是白炽灯的10倍。LED灯泡可将能耗降低80％到90％。此外，节能灯和LED灯泡的使用寿命长达100,000小时左右，从而平均每年可将二氧化碳的排放量降低400磅（约合180千克）。
7. 充分利用自然光。白天在家里充分利用自然光，尽量不消耗电能。
8. 充电完成后即刻切断电源。设备充满电后，立即拔掉电池充电器或适配器。

以上这些是公司建议的措施，公司群发邮件通常都直接删，不过关于节能的信息却是有意义有价值的，所以认真阅读。只要有颗绿色的心，时时想到节约环保，认为节约是高尚、是时尚，那么相信生活中还有很多措施会慢慢被发觉。

1) Firefox 3 (beta 5)  和2大致没有太多变化。不过据说Javascript-heavey的网站会更加快。使用了一会儿，确实觉得速度不错。

2) PPmate，收看港台和英文节目首选。速度比较好。本来用tvants. 不过有些慢。

2008总统大选高票胜出后，他谦逊认真的个性将为台湾社会和政治生态确立新的价值，那就是诚实谦逊的人会得到人民的认可，而会搞群众演讲，会搞族群分裂，会斗争，会摸黑玩阴的人，不会实实在在提高人民生活水平的人，迟早会被人民唾弃。

大约2.5年前，杭州南山路上有个叫卡纳的小酒吧，那里是外国人的聚居地，一周七天人声鼎沸，里面的人就像一家人，见个谁都说“hey”，如果是脸熟的那一定是个拥抱。DJ那一定是黑色的，音乐那一定是蓝色的。最迷人的是那个bartender，有着炯炯有神的眼睛，每杯鸡尾酒的调制都是他的表演，他看上去是那么出色，让我觉得做像他一样的一个bartender是多么酷的一件事情。

上个月回去看的时候，卡纳在装修，这次去看的时候，卡纳已经不是卡纳了，应该换了老板，改名叫做“Devil's Kiss”，那个令我印象深刻的bartender也不见了，让人失望。好好的酒吧为什么会这样？
